This memoir gives an account of my meeting and marriage to Jimmy Boyle when he was a prisoner in the Barlinnie Special Unit. It’s also an account of how I discovered Findhorn and how my relationships and friendships in this community supported me through a very challenging time in my life.

This tells the story of a ground breaking experiment in the Scottish Prison system. I was a member of the editorial team bringing together a collection of perspectives on the Barlinne Special Unit – my chapters include The Special Unit as a Therapeutic Community and The Gateway Exchange, which was part of the Unit’s legacy.
